“Celebrating the life of Bill Michaels” The Resolution 5K is celebrating the life of Bill Michaels, executive director of Family Resource Centers, who died of lung cancer this past July, at the age 54. Bill established himself in the 1970’s and 1980’s as Denver’s impresario of road-running events, organizing hundreds of events from the former Mile High Marathon to the popular First Night New Year’s celebration, which offered an alcohol-free New Year’s Eve Celebration. For 19 years, he ran at least once a day as well as swimming once a day for 20 years. Bill ran 23 marathons, with a personal-best time of 2:51, and sprinted up and down the halls of oncology wards when his cancer, diagnosed in 2005, took a turn for the worse. Bill Michaels & Co partnered with the Event Marketing Group since the mid 90’s, producing the Resolution 5K, Denver’s oldest and only New Years Eve running event. In addition, Bill also passionately served as founding director of Family Resource Centers, a network of centers supporting vulnerable families across Colorado and the beneficiary of partial proceeds from the race. He was a great friend to many and will be missed–celebrate his life by participating in something he loved!!! Entrants receive long sleeve t-shirt, admission into the Domino’s Pizza Party, and an opportunity to win during the post-event prize drawings following the 5K at South High School (Louisiana Ave. and South Franklin St.) Results for the TOP 100 will be posted at www.emgcolorado.com and www.active.com $18 17 & under $5 DAY OF EVENT LATE FEE. Register early as T-shirt sizes not guaranteed for day of event registration. Entry Fees are non-refundable. One person per entry. Bib numbers are non-transferable. Online registration closes at 10 am, December 31. All online registration will be available for event day pick-up at South High School, 4:30 pm-5:45 pm.

IF MAILED, Form and Entry Fee must be received by December 27. All mail-in registration will be available for event day pick-up at South High School, 4:30 pm-5:45 pm. DAY OF EVENT 4:30-5:45 pm-South High School AWARDS & TIMING Everyone’s a winner! Domino’s Pizza Party and prize drawings (must be present to win) follow the 5K inside at South High School. The top 10 Men and Women will be given awards. ONLY THE TOP 100 RUNNERS ARE TIMED AND PLACED and then the chutes are opened with a digital display clock to view your time. Results will be posted at www.active.com and www.emgcolorado.com.
