| Tour de Vineyards RIDER INSTRUCTIONS The start/finish location is Peach Bowl Park (take exit 42 off I-70 and go south less than a mile to 5th and Elberta). Thanks to the Town of Palisade, FREE SHOWERS WILL BE AVAILABLE at the park until 12:30 pm (you bring towels, soap, etc to the pool). The “Festival in the Park” (Riverbend Park) is only 5 blocks from the start/finish. NEW FINISHING ROUTE AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE RIDE-riders will finish by crossing Elberta on 1st (4 way stop-ALL riders are required to stop), continuing to Kluge, turning right to 3rd, then turn right and follow to the finish on 3rd to 4th to Logan back to the pool on 5th. This will prevent the cars and riders from “mixing” on Elberta as the bulk of the winefest traffic uses this route. Your cooperation is appreciated!! The tour AID STATION is Carlson Vineyards. Plum Creek Winery supplied the artwork for the t-shirt and jersey. Please thank them for their contribution to this event!!! RIDE PHOTO’S www.runningmemories.com will be taking pictures of riders along the route. Please have your number pinned to the front of your shirt in order to be identified. Please visit their site after the event to view your pictures. Plan on arriving early as all riders are expected to start their tour NO LATER than 8 am (start between 7-8 am)-course will close at 11:30 am, and the event will close at 12:30 pm-refreshments will end at this time as we encourage riders to attend the Festival in the Park, which begins at 10:30 am. Riders DO NOT need to CHECK-IN if you have your packet, t-shirt, bib number and map. Please ride single file in traffic and no more than 2 abreast as this is THE LAW. You can be issued a ticket if you don’t comply, as it is unsafe for riders as well as automobiles that will coexist with you. Obey all traffic signs and volunteer marshals, as this is not a closed course to traffic. IMPORTANT-all riders are required to have an ID on their person during the ride. Riders pass by acres of vineyards and orchards but the ride is designed for viewing not stopping and/or wine tasting along the route-please plan on attending the “Festival in the Park” (separate ticket for entrance into this event) immediately after the ride to enjoy tasting from the states winery’s. PLEASE DON’T DRINK AND RIDE! SHUTTLE BUS/PARKING-The Colorado Mountain Winefest, in conjunction with the Town of Palisade, provide several convenient parking areas that are available during the festival. They are located at the Palisade High School at 3679 G Road, Taylor Elementary School at 689 Brentwood Drive and at the Old Palisade High School at 711 Iowa Avenue. While parking may be limited in and around the Peach Bowl Park, these designated areas provide numerous spaces within easy pedaling distance of the park. Anyone parking on private property or in designated no parking zones will be ticketed and towed so please use these nearby lots to make all of your memories of Winefest pleasant ones. There is a small charge to park at Palisade High School, which is used as a fundraiser. A shuttle bus will be available from 10 am to 6 pm for Festival in the Park attendees from Peach Bowl Park and Palisade High School. Center For Independence will be sponsoring the Bike Corral at the “Festival in the Park” and will charge $5.00 for all cyclists who would like to store their bike. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. ALL RIDERS MUST WEAR A HELMET-NO HELMET, NO RIDE, NO EXCUSES!!!! Thank you for attending the Tour de Vineyards and Colorado Mountain Winefest!! Have a safe and fun ride!!! Back
